Registered Massage Therapy

"The practice of massage therapy is the assessment of soft tissue and joints of the body and the treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissues and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function or relieve pain" College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.

Therapeutic Ultrasound

Massage therapists are increasingly offering ultrasound treatments in conjunction with regular massage as a pain free method of releasing trigger points and knots in muscles. Using ultrasound on the trigger points of injured tissue helps to relax the area of trauma. When relaxed, muscle can heal from an injury much more quickly and effectively.

Benefits of Therapeutic Ultrasound:

  • Increases blood flow in the treated area which speeds the healing process
  • Reduces swelling and edema which are the main sources of pain
  • Gently massages the muscles, tendons, and/or ligaments in the effected area. This increases the recovery rate of damaged tissue without adding strain, and softens any scar tissue that is usually present in an injured area.

A form of massage therapy that uses specialized stones called basalt stones. These stones hold heat well, which penetrates deep into the muscle tissue, helping relieve tension and release toxins. Hot stone massage is very relaxing and is known to have various health benefits. It is not recommended for those who are pregnant, have high blood pressure or history of stroke/heart attack, or those who have or have had cancer.
* Hot Stone Massage is an additional 20$ charge to the treatement, for preparation and cleaning time

A focused pressure technique directed on the feet. It is based on the premise that there are zones and reflexes on the feet which correspond to and are relative to all parts, glands and organs within the body. When these reflexes are stimulated, the body's natural electrical energy works along with the nervous system to clear any blockages in the corresponding zones.
